Since 2014
Eleven people,one honest room.
Everything Aurelia makes is sampled and approved under a railway arch in Bermondsey before it is made anywhere else.
We would rather sell youone thing, once.
The industry runs on a simple arithmetic: make it cheaper, sell it more often, and count on the fact that nobody measures how long a garment lasts. We built the opposite business - fewer pieces, higher cost of goods, and a repairs desk that runs at a loss on purpose.
It means our range is small and our lead times are honest. The coat you buy this winter is the coat you are still wearing in 2036 - and if it is not, we will fix it, free, for as long as it is yours.
The studio
Under a railway archin Bermondsey.
One room. Four sewing machines, a cutting table salvaged from a Whitechapel tailoring house that closed in 2011, and a hollow worn into its edge by sixty years of someone standing in the same spot.
When a train passes overhead, the pattern weights move about a centimetre to the left. It is a slower way to work, and the only way we have found to keep the distance between a drawing and a finished garment honest.

How we got here

2019
Beauty division founded with a single formulation: the Veil Hydrating Cream.
2022

Repairs & care
Fixed, not replaced.
Elbows, cuffs, and the second buttonhole down - in that order, every year. We built the repairs desk around what actually breaks, not what looks good in a policy document.
